Carly Shooster is a Jewish-American comics artist based in Gainesville, Florida. She tells stories across media about women, pain, and displacement. She is currently working on her graphic novel, Mamita, about being a daughter and mother in transformative historical moments. When she isn't working at Gainesville Fine Arts Association or teaching comics, she can be found rock climbing, riding her bike, or walking her dog.

Although her work varies in genre and style, it is connected by themes of community, the natural environment, and mental health. Most of their work is influenced by their Malaysian culture/heritage, growing up aggressively Southeast Asian, and their love for cosmic horror mixed with a touch of sci-fi.
